Police gear up security for KHADC polls

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills District Police have made elaborative security arrangements for the KHADC elections scheduled to be held on February  27.

East Khasi Hills SP, Claudia Lyngwa on Wednesday said that  the  police were  always prepared for the elections even as she added that   incidents could happen anywhere at any point of time   but police are  taking prevention

“ We have necessary manpower to handle the situation,” Lyngwa said

The District Police would deploy additional forces from other districts and battalions since East Khasi Hills has the highest number of polling stations and few of them are identified as critical.

“We have few critical polling station and we will be more alert in those polling stations,” Lyngwa added

Both the KHADC and JHADC are going for elections on February 27  and the counting of the votes will take place on March  2.
