SHILLONG: Police have registered a case against three persons who were arrested for creating a fracas at Khyndailad on Thursday evening.
Police said that a case has been registered against the three for fighting in public. Besides, they have also been booked under Meghalaya Police Act. Meanwhile, police have also beefed up security in the area to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.
Tension prevailed at Khyndailad on Thursday evening after two hawkers had a verbal confrontation over a sitting place in the area to sell their wares. Later, some hawkers alleged that during the verbal duel one of the two hawkers raised anti-India and pro-Pakistani slogan.
Following the confrontation, a large number of hawkers gathered on the spot, but timely arrival of police helped restore normalcy.
