Occasions and festivity can also be linked with career and the easy word for us in this regard is event management. It is the application of project management to the creation and development of large-scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts or conventions. It involves studying the brand, identi-fying the target audience, devising the event concept and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event. The process of planning and coor-dinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and which can include budgeting, scheduling, site selection, acquiring necessary per-mits, coordinating transportation and parking, arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering, coordinating with third party vendors, and emergency plans.Many industries and charitable organisations hold events to market themselves, build business relation-ships, raise money or celebrate achievement. Increase in trade and commerce and other activities also create many other things. It is always helpful for the entrepreneurs and people who are creative and serious about work. One of the career options which have been booming in all parts of the country is event management. It is one of the careers where one does not need much investment and yet can earn more. Event management, the most profound form of advertising and marketing, is a glamorous and thrilling profession. It provides an opportunity for unleashing one’s cre-ative potential to a very high degree. One does not need much formal qualification to be part of these pro-fessions. Some of the qualities which are important are skills like good communication skill, confidence and ability to work in team and manage people. Having good command over language and writing skills are added advantage. Leadership skills, work under pres-sure are also needed. Students of Mass Communication or Public Relations can also take up this profession. It demands high perfection, hard work and a lot of patience. With the event management industry poised to grow by leaps and bounds, trained candi-dates have excellent job opportunities. The success of an event manager or event management team depends on its capacity to procreate themes that have never been thought of before. Some of the courses related to event management are: Certificate Course in Event Management , Diploma in Event Management (DEM), Post Graduate Diploma in Event Man-agement (PGEM), Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management and Public Relations, etc. There are some institutes that offer this kind of cours-es. People can start event manage-ment even without doing any of these courses. Event Management is yet to take momentum in the state but in last few years it has increased. In near future there will be more demand for people who are associated with event management and youths from the state can take up event management as their career options. It depends upon our youths how they understand vari-ous aspects of this and take it up as their profession.International Scholarships: The Government of Brunei Darus-salam has announced the scholarships to foreign students for the academic session 2019-20 which is tenable in Brunei Darussalam.
