New Delhi: The focus is on love at the 17th edition of the European Union film festival that has kick-started here. A bouquet of 25 films, including “The Poll Diaries” and “Touch of Spice”, will essay different shades and meanings of love from the European perspective.
The 12-day festival, which started Wednesday with British director Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea, is themed Europe in Love. The movie buffs can look forward to films like French movie Romantics Anonymous, Something More About Love from Bulgaria and You Kiss Like God from Czech Republic that promises to bring engaging stories from various parts of Europe.
“I think, it would be fascinating to have European and Indian filmmaker, a joint effort of work together. We want artistic producer and director working together, sharing there views and promoting their ideas,” said Joao Cravinho, ambassador of the European Union.
“The first movie at the festival is the one way of love from each country because there are 100 ways of looking at love in Europe. The festival will have 24 more samples of European way of looking at love” he added. Starting from Delhi, the festival will travel to six other Indian cities – Banglore, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa and Hydreabad. (IANS)
