SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday handed over school buses to five schools sanctioned under the Chief Minister Rural Development funds.
Speaking to media persons after handing over the buses, Sangma said that the government takes up different activities under this programme. Stating that the education sector is a priority for the government, the chief minister said that the government is also coming up with Eklavya model residential schools.
He informed that out of the 50 residential schools selected across the country under the scheme, 11 are in Meghalaya. He stated that the government will continue to support the education sector in the state.
Earlier, the CM handed over the keys of the buses to the respective schools from different parts of the state.
