Criminal gang member surrenders in NGH

TURA: A member of the A’chik National Liberation Central Army (ANLCA) who deserted the outfit and remained absconding, has reportedly surrendered before North Garo Hills Police on Tuesday.

 Salman S Sangma (28) alias Gaon, son of Keneth Arengh of Nengringgre under Rongjeng Police Station in East Garo Hills surrendered before North Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Dr S R Marak and other police officials at Kharkutta Police Station in the presence of his family.

 Salman was earlier also arrested by police after he was caught extorting from a citizen. However, after serving jail term for two and a half years, he was released on bail on August 4 2016 and since had remained absconding.

 Salman’s surrender comes after family his members contacted Church leaders who counseled him persuaded him to give himself up.
