SHILLONG: The chief executive member of KHADC, Teiñwell Dkhar, said the new executive committee will focus on codification of laws of Himas and Raid.
Speaking to reporters, he said the codification of laws should be given emphasis while the Village Administration Bill will be studied later.
He said there is a need to streamline the functioning of the District Council to ensure that bills do not get rejected as seen in most cases.
Dkhar added that if there is a need, the KHADC will request the services of MCS officers to streamline the engineering wing and strengthen the council.
The KHADC executive committee will have four UDP MDCs — Titosstarwell Chyne, Paul Lyngdoh, Jambor War and Teibor Pathaw — and HSPDP’s Martle Mukhim and the rest will go to PDA.
The names of the executive members will be sent to the governor on Friday.
