West Garo Hills DC’s notification for upcoming polls

TURA: In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election to 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency, the District Election Officer, West Garo Hills has informed all candidates and political parties that the nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposers to the Returning Officer in Room No. 101, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Main Building, 1st Floor between 11 AM and 3 PM on any day (other than public holiday) and not later than March 35.

 Nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11:00 AM on March 26 at Room No. 101, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Main Building, 1st Floor, and notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of his officers before 3 PM on March 28.

 Further, for the Bye-Election to 48-Selsella (ST) Assembly Constituency the process of submission of nomination papers will be the same and the same may be submitted to the Returning Officer in Room No. 5, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Main Building, 1st Floor or to Shri J R T Sangma, Assistant Returning Officer in Room No. 3, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Main Building, 1st Floor between 11 AM and 3 PM on any day (other than public holiday) and not later than 25th March 25.

 The Nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11:00 AM on March 26 at Room No. 5, Deputy Commission’s Office, Main Building, 1st Floor and the notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of his officers before 3 PM on the March 28.

Further, in view of the upcoming polls, the District Election Office, West Garo Hills is conducting the 1st Phase of training schedule for Polling personnel from March 19 to 23 at SMELC Building and ETC Building, Dakopgre, Tura which will be followed by 2nd and 3rd Phase training from March 26 to April 8 at the same venue.
