Annual sports meet of St Paul HS School gets underway

NONGPOH: In a bid to provide platform for school children to excel in sport especially in athletic events, the St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh on Wednesday inaugurated its annual sport meet which was held at NSCA, Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem.

The inaugural event of the sport meet, was attended by R M Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District as the chief guest, in the presence of Sr. Rejema Dkhar, Principal of St. Paul HSS, among other school teachers.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest lauded the effort of the school authority for organizing the annual sport meet every year, which is one of the platforms of schools to promote sporting talent among school children.

She also, urged upon all school children to utilize the talent that they have in sport  which has emerged as a  major platform for those who utilize their talent to earn their livelihood. She also urged school children to concentrate in their studies too to excel in their life.

Tracking event which will be conducted in the two days annual sport meet, includes, 100 mt, 200mt, 400mt race, relax race, high jump, long jump, javelin throw and other.
