Relief provided to cyclone victims

NONGSTOIN: The district administration of West Khasi Hills on Thursday, through the office of the BDO Mairang C&RD Block, distributed relief materials and funds to the victims of four villages who were affected by a cyclone.
It was informed that six damaged houses at Nongthliew and Umthlong Kyrsen were given Rs 10,000 each, whereas16 severely-damaged houses at Umthlong Kyrsen, Nongthliew and Langkyrteng were given Rs 5,000 each.Also, two persons from Umthlong, who were injured during the cyclone, were given Rs 4,000 each.
Besides financial assistance, relief materials like rice, dal, salt and tarpaulins were also distributed.
