Ri Bhoi imposes SWM Rule 2016

NONGPOH: The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district in has informed that in compliance with the final judgement of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) bench regarding implementation of Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rule 2016, the general public on Nongpoh town must  adhere to the obligation of waste generator as specified under Rule 4 of SWM Rule, 2016 failing which, stern action including penalty ranging from Rs.5000 onwards under “Polluters Pay Principle” will be imposed and they shall be impeded as co responder in NGT cases.
