Itanagar: While criticising the BJP strongly for its remarks on the state’s financial Budget for 2012-13, Aruanchal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Wednesday termed it as a ‘sinking party’.
Tuki, in a press conference immediately after the conclusion of the six-day Budget Session here today, billed the comments made by the BJP’s national general secretary Tapir Gao, which appeared in a section of media, as ’empty vessel sound much’. Gao allegedly said the budget presented was a ‘mockery’. While congratulating Finance Minister Chowna Mein for presenting a people-friendly and growth-oriented budget yesterday, Mr Tuki lashed out at the BJP, terming it as a ‘sinking party’ in the state politics. ‘We always welcome positive criticism for the benefit of the people and for the state,’ he added.
Mr Tuki also said BJP members Tamiyo Taga and Tangor Tapak had appreciated various steps taken by the state government in the Budget to enhance revenue and they also extended valuable suggestion on collection of taxes on horticulture, agriculture and rubber sectors by the leaders. ‘BJP should know properly the basic planning and implementation, they should know the public finance and private finance before criticising the government for cheap political gain,’ he said.
