SHILLONG: Kamsing, the smallest polling station accessible only by boats, has registered cent per cent turnout of voters in the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls.
All the 33 voters cast their votes during the election held on April 11. The remote Kamsing under Amlarem Assembly segment, West Jaintia Hills has 19 male and 14 female voters.
Chief Electoral Officer Frederick Kharkongor said the Election Commission of India had featured Kamsing in its table calendar for 2019 after the 2018 Assembly polls. “The place is very remote and the only way to reach there is by ferry”, said Kharkongor, who visited the area prior to the Assembly polls in 2018.
The polling parties also depended on boats to reach Kamsing.
