JSU clarifies on illegal transportation of limestone

JOWAI: The general secretary of the Jaintia Students’ Union, Jersome Shylla has clarified that Yoki Phawa is not a member of the union as his name appeared in the news item, ‘Illegal transportation of limestone to Bangladesh’.
Shylla informed that Phawa’s name appeared in the report and people are confused as he is not a member of the union.
“The name of JSU appeared in the report along with the name of Phawa and we do not like people calling us to find out whether he is a member of the JSU”, he added.
The JSU president had also sent a separate press release opposing such individuals and authorities who were involved as appeared in some section of the media.
The JSU through its president, Lawyerson War and one individual, a resident of Mihmyntdu village, Yoki Phawa lodged separate complaints with the Forest Department to take stock of illegal activities by traders who transport limestone illegally without valid permits to Bangladesh via Tamabil.
