Shillong: A group consisting of 9 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities represented the state under the Meghalaya Parents Association for Disabled and performed Shad Suk Mynsiem during an event held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre recently.
The dormant and subtle talents and potentials of Persons with Disabilities got the boost by leaps and bounds to express themselves with the enactment of ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016’.
This took a concrete shape when the President of India desired the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India to present the Cultural Events, the first of its kind ‘Divya Kala Shakti: Witnessing Ability in Disability’ on April 18, at  Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi.
