Meet called to discuss home guard’s death

SHILLONG: The Joint Action Committee Mawlai, which was formed to condemn the death of a home guard personnel posted at FCI godown and a resident of Mawlai Mawroh Dismarlin, Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi, has called for a meeting on Monday, April 29.
The meeting will be held at the Community Hall, Mawlai Mawroh at 6 pm.
The committee has invited residents of Mawlai to attend the meeting to discuss the demise of Lyngdoh.
Lyngdoh had died after being allegedly assaulted by four truck drivers at FCI godown in Ri-Bhoi on Wednesday night.
Condemning the incident, the committee demanded that a family member of the deceased be given appointment besides compensation from the company as he was the sole bread winner of the family with five children with the youngest being only three months old.
