SHILLONG: The BSF on Wednesday said the Indian delegate, Riva Ganguly Das, was neither harassed nor any protocol violated by the BSF troops deployed at ICP Dawki.
A statement issued here said the BSF headquarters approached the office of the Indian High Commissioner, Dhaka(Bangladesh) in this regard and it also denied any harassment to the Indian High Commissioner during her recent visit to Dawki .
On the contrary, the BSF troops were applauded for performing their duty round the clock to guard the international border.
It was also clarified that they were aware that the official vehicle of the diplomat cannot cross to the other side of the international border and hence no such request was made. “So harassment does not arise”, the statement said.
According to the BSF, its personnel are performing their duty judiciously round the clock to create a sense of security among local people and to avoid any threat from counterpart as well as anti-national elements.
“Some persons having vested interests have intentionally misinformed the media to malign the image of BSF. The BSF troops are well aware of the protocol and security aspects on such occasions”, the statement said.
