SHILLONG: City police are clueless about the incident in which three trucks parked at the FCI godown in Mawlai Mawroh were torched on Sunday night.
Police said that they have not got any clue into the incident but detailed inquiry, including examination of the place of occurrence, is on. In addition, security has also been enhanced in the area to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.
The burning of the trucks came shortly after a Home Guard personnel, who was guarding the FCI godown at Khanapara, died after being allegedly assaulted by a group of truck drivers last week. The deceased was identified as 50-yr-old Disnarlin L Lyngdoh.
Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee, Mawlai has petitioned the Home Minister, James Sangma, asking that the assailants be arrested immediately.
