SHILLONG: Some traders have alleged that receipts for payment of renewal and issuing of fresh license are not being issued by the KHADC.
When contacted, executive member Paul Lyngdoh In-charge of Trade said that the system in KHADC is that acknowledgement is given only in the case of renewal and not in issuing of fresh license since it can land the council into legal problems.
He said that the Council does not issue acknowledgement to fresh applicants since they may be rejected.
However, Lyngdoh informed that new forms are available in the District Council and they are different from the previous ones.
As the system is being digitised, the traders would have to buy the form and will be given a form number and the name will be duly entered into the system. Stating that it would take around 15 days to issue fresh forms, he said people can make their payment in both digital as well as hard cash.
He stated that issuing of acknowledgment forms has led to the KHADC into trouble on many occasions when some people resort to manipulation.
