Pass percentage dips from last year

SHILLONG: The pass percentage in Commerce and Science streams of MBoSE has registered fall over last year.
The results were declared on Wednesday.
The pass percentage in Commerce was 79.24 as compared to 79.84 last year.
Similarly, the pass percentage in Science was 71.07 as compared to 74.58 last year.
For Commerce, the pass percentage in 2015 was 72.32, in 2016 it was 70.60 and in 2017 it was 71.84.
For Science, the pass percentage in 2015 was 75.68, in 2016 it was 74.46 and in 2017 it was 76.76.
In the Science stream, the colleges that secured cent per cent pass are Bissau College, Holy Child Higher Secondary School, Holy Family Higher Secondary School (Rongjeng), Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary school, North Liberty Higher Secondary School (Mookyrdoop-Jowai), Risa Higher Secondary School and St. Paul’s Higher Secondary school (Nongpoh).
In Commerce, the colleges that secured cent per cent pass percentage are Alpha English Higher Secondary School (Nongpoh), Alpine College, Anderson Higher Secondary school (Upper New Nongstoin), H. Elias Memorial Higher Secondary School, Laban Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Langton Higher Secondary School (Langtor), Little Star Higher Secondary School (Baridua), Mawryngkneng Higher Secondary School (Mawryngkneng), Raid Laban College, Ri-Bhoi College (Nongpoh), Sacred Heart Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Sacred Heart Girls’ Higher Secondary School, St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School and UCC Higher Secondary School (Umiam Khwan).
However, it is worth mentioning that the pass percentage varies in colleges because of very low number of students appearing in some.
