TURA: A protest rally against the recent rape and murder of a seven-year-old child in a remote village of South Garo Hills, was organised by members of the Babadam Area Youth Development Committee in collaboration with the Garoland State Movement Committee
A number of villagers, youths and students of Father Henry Frassy Memorial School gathered together on a field at Babadam, under Rongram block in West Garo Hills to denounce the gruesome murder of the little girl at Megua Songmong village and demanded harsh punishment for the accused.
Leaders from the two organisations informed the gathering about the need to be cautious and wary of outsiders working in villages and to check their credentials.
They urged upon the village Nokmas and Sordars to keep a record of people who visit their villages whether it is for work or trade.
