SHILLONG: Additional Chief Secretary, PW Ingty said responding to crisis should be done in the most effective manner.
“In the last few months, we have been training so much and organising mock drills with the focus being on earthquake but the state has been hit with different kinds of crisis not only earthquake such as landslides, mining disaster in Ksan for which we were found unprepared,” he said.
According to him, if there should be a close working relationship among the stakeholders and the responders to ensure an effective response in every area.
Vice Consul, Eastern and North East India, British High Commission, Kolkata, Sanjibita McDonald Tariang Seen, said the Foreign and Commonwealth Office aimed to provide and prepare for a crisis response which is very effective in any kinds of crisis anywhere in the world.
“You can never predict a crisis and totally be prepared for it but at least can prepare for it to some extent. Small tips which everyone should know,” she said.
