TURA: The Garoland state Movement Committee organization has demanded that the Meghalaya Government terminate the services of the AYUSH doctor who molested a woman patient at Sibbari health centre on Thursday.

The political movement organisation also called for a comprehensive review of the antecedents and credentials of the many other AYUSH doctors appointed on contractual basis in several health centres.

“The services of this accused doctor must be terminated by the government as he is on a contractual basis and he will continue to pose a threat to women and children, particularly patients who seek his medical services,” cautioned GSMC chairman Nikman Marak.

He added that the government must act sternly against such crimes otherwise people will start losing faith in doctors and the government.

The GSMC is demanding that the police ensure an unbiased investigation and charge sheeting of the arrested doctor.
