SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday inspected the road connecting Mawmaram to Lad Umsaw through Mawlyndep.
Stopping at different locations during the drive from Mawmaram, Conrad said that early completion of the road will greatly benefit the people from the villages besides providing an opportunity to tourists travelling to destinations such as Sohra and West Khasi Hills to enjoy the beautiful and scenic countryside.
“The alternate route will also allow tourists and other vehicles travelling to East and West Khasi Hills to bypass the heavy city traffic and help decongest the city,” he added.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Secretary PWD, PR Marwein, LD Suchiang CE Roads (PWD), and other officials from the PWD department.
