SHILLONG: The traditional heads of Warmawsaw-Umsohbar Raidland under Hima Nongspung have echoed the state government claim that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the PMGSY scheme initiated by Assam was issued by the Syiem of Hima Nongspung.
Addressing the press here on Monday, Sordar of the Raid, Manarson Doloi, alleged that the Syiem, including the secretary of Hima Nongspung, had issued the NOC to the Assam government for the PMGSY road project in Balakhawa, Ri Bhoi district.
Doloi asserted that chaos erupted in the village when the road project was initiated. “The Syiem of Hima Nongspung had issued NOC to the government of Assam for the road project in 2011.”
The same NOC was issued by secretary of the Hima, Michael Warjri, in 2016,” Doloi said alleging that the Syiem and Warjri are hiding the truth.
He further alleged that Warjri had signed an agreement with an MLA from Assam for the road connectivity a copy of which was also sent to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tyngsong.
Referring to the alleged surreptitious move of the Syiem and Warjri, the Sordar has urged the KHADC to remove the Syiem and secretary of Hima Nongspung.
On the other hand, the traditional heads of Warmawsaw-Umsohbar Raidland have urged the KHADC CEM, Teiñwell Dkhar, to recognise the Warmawsaw-Umsohbar Raidland, Ri-Bhoi under Nongspung Syiemship with an aim to strengthen the administration of the land and to protect the people.
