Security, traffic arrangement for counting

JOWAI: The Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills has informed that there will be three tier security system at the office of the DC, Jowai in view of the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections.
The first tier will be at the entry-exit point of the DC’s office building, second tier inside the premises and the third tier outside three gates (Near HDFC ATM, DC point and District Sessions Judge’s office) of the building.
Only the staff, candidates, counting agents and those who have valid passes issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election) will be allowed to enter the premises.
Vehicles will not be allowed to enter from Wah Nangbah junction and H.K Singh School towards DC’s office.
There will be no entry of vehicles and pedestrians from SP’s office junction towards DC’s office. Also, vehicles and pedestrians from SP’s office junction will not be allowed to ply through the road behind DC’s office towards Iawmusiang. No entry has been declared from 6 am till counting is over.
The entire area of the DC office, WJH has been declared sterile zone and barricades will be placed near HDFC ATM, road towards Mission Compound, infront of JHADC office and SP office junction.
