Annual Assembly of Church of God concludes

 NONGSTOIN: The 14th Annual Church meeting of the Assembly of Balang u Blei (Church of God) Khasi Jaintia which began on Thursday at the Balang u Blei Khasi Jaintia Pariong in West Khasi Hills concluded on Sunday which saw the participation of thousands of believers from across the State.

Irin Lyngdoh MDC Ex MLA also attended the service on Sunday afternoon.

Rev Ricky Kharkongor and Rev J.Laitim were the main speakers on Sunday’s morning and afternoon services respectively.

Both the speakers stressed on the blessings of heavenly God which was poured down to all mankind due to the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the graveyard on Easter Sunday.

Choir groups from Balang u Blei Nongstoin, Ngunraw, Mawdoh and Nongrah presented beautiful songs in the morning services while Choir groups from Pariong and Ribhoi presented good numbers of songs on the resurrection of Christ in the afternoon service.

Speaking at the services, senior Pastor as well as the President of the Administrative Body of the Balang u Blei Khasi & Jaintia , Rev Ricky Kharkongor, said that no one can destroy the wonderful creation (human body) of God. One must keep his body clean both physically and spiritually.

Rev J.Laitim, a senior pastor of Balang u Blei, said, “Our God is a communicable God. He continues to communicate with his people in many ways and with different voices. God still speaks to his people through his only beloved son Jesus Christ.”

“Only if we obey the words of God we would live a happy life,’’ he said.
