Four policemen injured in Bru attack in Tripura

Agartala: At least four police personnel including Sub-divisional Police Officer of Kanchanpur Bikramjit Sukladas and Officer-in-Charge of Kanchanpur Police Station Paritosh Das sustained injury when a group of Bru refugees residing in camps attacked them at Dasda on Monday night. A Bru youth has also sustained injuries as police resorted to lathi charge on them to counter, said SDPO Das. According to report, the incident took place when the police party led by OC Paritosh Das was patrolling in the area and noticed a four-wheeler moving in high speed. Police asked the van to stop but the youths came out and attacked the OC and other personnel. Meantime, another patrol party led by the SDPO also came under attack when they reached the spot that forced police to charge baton. The local people reached into the spot and defused the tension.
