SHILLONG: As the second Union council of  ministers headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn-in on Thursday night, different political parties in Meghalaya are optimistic that  non-Congress Government at both the Centre and the state will lead to better coordination.

The NPP State president, WR Kharlukhi said, “Modi has done well in his previous term and this is the reason people have reposed their faith on him. I am sure that in his second term,  people will get more benefits,” he said

Stating that the MDA Government here in the state have received a lot of help from the last BJP-led NDA government , he added that Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma shared good rapport with the central leaders in New Delhi which would definitely help the state.

On the other hand, BJP MLA and Cabinet Minister, AL Hek says that the agenda of the BJP is development and there is no deviation from it.

“We will work in coordination with the centre and centre too must work in coordination with all the states of the country,” Hek said while lamenting that he could not take part in the swearing-in ceremony of the PM.

Meanwhile, UDP MLA and Cabinet Minister, Kyrmen Shylla said that as PM, Modi had brought lot of changes in India and he was turning Indian from good to the best

He also expects that both Meghalaya Government and   Central Government would work hand in hand  like the past where Central Government has assisted Meghalaya Government in many ways.
