SHILLONG: Drawing, essay-writing and carom competitions were organised by Deep Jyoti Socio-Environmental Society at Sankardev Vidhyapith Bishnupur in the city on Sunday in view of World Environment Day (WED) on June 5. Total of 32 schools participated and number of participants in drawing competition was 78, in carom 40 and in essay-writing 35.
The prizes would be distributed on June 16 at 4:30 pm at Deva Kumar hall Bishnupur. Deep Jyoti Socio-Environmental society will also be organising an environmental awareness run on June 5 at 5:30 am. All are welcome to participate, the reporting place will be at Deva Kumar hall Bishnupur (near Meghalaya Rural Bank)
