AHAM joins WED celebrations

TURA: Members of the A.chik Holistic Awakening Movement,Tura, joined the “One Citizen, One Tree” campaign by undertaking a plantation drive at several different places of Garo Hills during celebration of World Environment Day.

According to the AHAM leaders, as many as 41 of its units are took part in the Programme in different parts of Garo Hills as well as neighbouring Assam.

AHAM president Champion Sangma initiated the campaign with a plantation drive at Bajengdoba and other members took off to different parts for a similar movement. Tree plantation drives were organised at Darebok under Nokrek Biosphere National Park, and as far away as Kantabari in Agia, Goalpara district of Assam which was organized by its Rajapara AHAM Regional Unit.
