JOWAI: A person identified as Barwel Bang, 22, son of Rin Suchiang of Ialong Mission allegedly raped a three-year-old girl on Saturday afternoon.
The accused was arrested later.
Sources informed that the accused lured the minor girl with some eatables and took her to the Ialong Presbyterian Church cemetery and committed the crime.
“When the girl reached home, she told her mother and she rushed along with her child to Ialong Civil Hospital where the doctor treating the girl immediately informed the police”, police said.
A case under the appropriate sections of the POCSO Act was registered against the accused.
