GUWAHATI: The wreckage of the lost AN 32 Aircraft of Indian Air Force has been found on Tuesday after eight days of extensive and arduous search operations conducted by multi agencies.
The AN-32 carrier aircraft that went missing on June 3 after it has taken off from Jorhat Airbase to Mechuka Advance Landing Ground in Arunachal Pradesh. The aircraft has been located north of Lipo in Arunachal Pradesh, according to reports of news agencies
Indian Air Force on June 8 announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for any information pertaining to the whereabouts of its missing IAF AN-32 aircraft.
The security forces, from the Indian Army to the Indian Air Force, had engaged a SU-30 jet fighter, C130 J, Mi17, ALH helicopters and NTRO Spy Satellites to trace the lost transporter aircraft.
The IAF has tweeted : “The wreckage of the missing AN 32 was spotted today 16 kms north of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 1200 ft by the IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in expanded search zone.”
