JOWAI: With the ongoing sex racket in West Jaintia Hills, another case was reported in East Jaintia Hills where two girls who went missing from June 16 were found on Wednesday in Umpleng area (Cement Market) in the district.
They were found in a house which belonged to a Bodo couple. After the girls went missing, an FIR was lodged by the relatives on Monday. One girl is fifteen years old while the other is fourteen years.
After continous search for three days, the relatives were informed that the two girls were held captive near Umpleng area.
It was then informed to the headman and on inspection of the house, the two girls were found there. The girls even clarified that they were not allowed to set foot outside the house.
East Jaintia Hills police received information about the incident, and on receiving it, the wife was arrested while her husband is absconding.
