Traffic rerouted in WJH ahead of Behdeinkhlam

JOWAI: On the occasion of the annual Behdeinkhlam festival organised by the Sein Raij Jowai, West Jaintia Hills, from July 11-14, the Jowai Traffic Police has announced new traffic arrangement for smooth conduct of the festival.
There will be no parking for vehicles at Loomsooiung, New Hill and Stand Shillong where the Symbood Khnong will be kept. Trucks will not be allowed to enter Jowai from 9 am to 5 pm. Vehicles will not be allowed entry towards Iawmusiang from 4 pm onwards on July 11, from 12 pm onwards on July 12 and from 9 am to 5 pm on July 13. Vehicles will not be allowed to park at Stand Ummulong and Stand Nongbah.
Light vehicles coming from Shillong will be allowed to park on the Shillong-Jowai road starting from Challam Syngkon Petrol Pump. Further, light vehicles arriving from Khliehriat-Shangpung can be parked at Ladthadlaboh Stadium, Jowai and those arriving from Dawki side will be allowed to park along the Jowai-Dawki road.
No vehicles will be allowed to park along the DC point road up to District Library on July 13 and vehicles will not be allowed to park at Stand War.
Entry of vehicles from Iawmusiang to Iongpiah, Mission Compound, Panaliar, Dulong, Tpeppale and Mynthong side will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm.
On July 14, entry from Dulong Junction, Mission Compound, Lumkyrwiang, towards Iongpiah and from Khimusniang Junction towards Umshyngiar from 12 pm to 5 pm will be restricted.
On the last day of the festival on July 14, VIP vehicles and vehicles with car passes will be allowed to enter Chilliang Raij via Mission Compound, Lumkyrwiang. Vehicles with car pass can enter up to Umshyngiar playground and the vehicles without car pass may be parked along Lower Chutwakhu Road.
On the afternoon of the final day, during Datlawakor, no vehicles will be allowed to enter Mynthong from DC Point/Chutwakhu-Jrisalein and Jowai Amlarem road from 3 pm onwards till Datlawakor is completed.
