NPP targets more Assembly seats in ’23

SHILLONG: Aiming to send more legislators to the Assembly in 2023, leaders and members of the National People’s Party (NPP) met on Saturday. The meeting also focused on strengthening the party in all six constituencies starting from the block level till the primary level.
In a statement issued here, general secretary of NPP Khasi & Jaintia Hills Region, PN Syiem said the meeting has elected two conveners from each constituency in Shillong and has decided to convene the first general counsel of the party in the city on August 10.
The meeting was attended by Don War, working president of NPP State Unit, Pynshngain N. Syiem, general secretary, NPP Khasi & Jaintia Hills Region, Mitchel Wankhar, NPP MDC, Wanlamphang Kharmujai, president NPP, Shillong City, Probity Nongpluh, working president Mahila NPP State Unit, Anthony N. Nongbri, working president NPP Shillong City and M. Kharpuri, vice president NPP Shillong City. The meeting also hailed the recognition of NPP as a national party.
