Union minister to visit Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale is likely visit the state to address the grievances of the teachers and the workers of the GVK EMRI, 108.
He gave the assurance to visit the state to a delegation of teachers led by president of Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teacher’s Association (MUPSTA), Kenneth Shadap, which met him in Guwahati.
Shadap placed the grievances of the teachers before the minster and sought his intervention to upgrade ad hoc schools to deficit system and equal pay for equal work.
Workers of GVK, EMRI 108 under the banner of Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union (MEMRIWU) also met the minister and pointed out the apathy of the GVK EMRI management to their demands.
