Students witness BSF’s skills during school trip

SHILLONG: A group of students from Ri Bhoi Anoopchand Higher Secondary School were taken to BSF frontier in Mawpat where young women personnel of BSF exhibited their skills before the young students.
During the visit, the women personnel exhibited their physical toughness before the students and also showed how efficiently they were able to load bullets and fire using their INSAS rifles on the enemy if situation demanded. They also presented a drill on how to use arms and weapons.
BSF DIG Meghalaya Frontier, U K Nautiyal, while interacting with 18 young students of the school, said that BSF has been organising a series of programmes to motivate youths to join the armed force.
He also explained to them that BSF is making all attempts to empower women even as he informed that 43 women personnel were deployed in one of the battalions of BSF in Mawpat while many women have also been deployed in the BOPs along the Indo Bangla border.
The students said that they were inspired by the BSF personnel and many of them have even made their mind up to join the armed forces in future.
