SHILLONG: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday informed the High Court of Meghalaya that it has no objection for granting permission for landing of aircraft at Umroi airport provided sanction is accorded by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Earlier, the counsel for DGCA had filed an affidavit regarding the obstacles in Umroi airport and it was taken on record by the court.
The copy of the affidavit has been handed over to the Amicus Curiae and will also be furnished to other counsels for the respondents.
The court wanted an affidavit be filed to know whether Cluster-I is a real hindrance for landing of Turbojet and Air Bus at Umroi airport.
The matter will come up for hearing on July 29.
