Nagaland Cabinet reviews execution of Year of Entrepreneurs

Kohima: The Nagaland Cabinet has reviewed the progress of implementation of the Year of Entrepreneurs (YOE) and decided that the department of industries and commerce will constitute a committee of officers to give full attention to the 1000 entrepreneurs selected and trained under the programme.

According to a release issued by the press secretary of the chief minister, the committee will review the latest position of the selected entrepreneurs and help them prepare project reports for their respective trades and also obtain loans from banks and financial institutions.

The Cabinet also decided that out of the amount available under PMEGP during 2012-13, around 75 per cent will be earmarked for assistance to the selected entrepreneurs in addition to the available amounts of Rs 250 Lakhs out of the amount allotted earlier under YOE. The release also said that the state government will also try to allocate required additional fund out of the annual plan 2012-13 to supplement the above funds and provide the necessary gap funding to the extent possible.

It further said that for coordination and review of the activities of all the Departments involved, a Coordination Committee has been proposed. (UNI)
