SHILLONG: The North West Garo Hills Senior Citizen’s Forum has asked the State Government to upgrade the Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division to North-West Garo Hills district.
It has demanded the upgradation of Selsella Block to Civil Sub-Division with its headquarters located in any of the following places: – i) Selsella-Haldibari belt, ii) Balachanda-Rajabala belt, iii) Wadagoggre-Rajpur belt and iv) Shymnagar-Phulbari belt.
Besides these two demands, the Forum has urged the Government for a Sub-Divisional Block at Selsella and the creation of a new Administrative Block in any of the following places-i) Rochonpara-Jeldupara-Hallidayganj belt, ii) Shymnagar-Phulbari-Machangpani belt and iii)Wadagoggre-Rajpur-Bhaitbari belt.
The Forum has submitted a memorandum incorporating these demands to the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma, following which public rallies and meetings in places like Dadenggre, Selsella, Shymnagar, Wadagoggre, Balachanda and other places will be held.
