SHILLONG: The capital city of Meghalaya is all geared up to host the two-day 22nd National conference on e- Governance on August 8-9
An official said that a central team from Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances including Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary and Deputy Secretary is visiting Shillong on August 29 to take stock of the preparation for the event. There will be a certain raiser event on August 30.
This is for the first time that Shillong will host the National e-Governance conference and around 300-400 delegates from all across the country will participate in the programme.
Union Minister of Personnel Jitendra Singh has confirmed his participation in conference as the chief guest.
It may be mentioned that the conference is usually held in big cities and Shillong is getting the opportunity to host the event for the first time. During the event, there will be discussions on e- governance, IT initiatives and sharing of good practices among different states. Government officials, experts from various areas and corporate representatives would also present their papers in the context of various developments in the e-Governance scenario in the count
