Evening of music and memories
Shillong: Rympei Ventures Pvt. Ltd. under the banner of Rympei.com in association with the local band Colours and the Department of Arts and Culture will bring an enchanting evening of music and memories on August 3. It will be held at U Soso Tham Auditorium, State Central Library from 4pm to 8:30pm. The event will also have additional attractions in the form of food stalls and local wine. A curated list of artistes and musicians from the very heart of the city will render their voices to the tunes of songs that have forever been an integral part of the city’s collective consciousness. As Shillong moves from milestone to milestone in its pursuit for musical genius and excellence, it is also important to recognise the originals who have played an important role in the game changing direction that the city’s musical excellence has taken. Top performing artists on the list on this day include Headingson Ryntathiang, Shandaland Tariang, Halcom Tariang, Phom Lytan and Colours. Also featuring are Donboklang Dohling, the Strait Brothers, Barry Mawthoh, Wari Lyngwa, Sara War, Kyntiew and more. These artists will be performing age old classics such as Suspicious Mind, Speedy Gonzales, Hello Mary Lou and more. Tickets are available at different vendors at the rate of Rs 500, Rs 1000 and 5000 for donors. They can also be purchased at the venue and at https://rympei.com.

Forms for competition
TURA: The Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations (ADIPR), Tura has informed that the forms for the open competition for designing of logo, mascot of smiling Clouded Leopard and coinage of theme for the National Games 2022 to be held in the state, is available in his office at Dakopgre, Tura as well as in all the district offices of Garo Hills. In a notification, the official said that interested persons, above 16 years of age, may collect the forms from ADIPR Tura, DPRO Ampati, DPRO Williamnagar, DPRO Baghmara and DPRO Resubelpara from August 1. It may be mentioned that the competition is being sponsored by the Directorate of Information & Public Relations in coordination with Department of Education, and carries prize money of Rs 1 lakh each for those selected in different categories.
