2nd knockout football tourney

SHILLONG: Members of the Kynshi Bangla Social & Cultural Sports Club have informed that the second Football Knockout Tournament 2019 will be held at Kynshi Ground, West Khasi Hills on August 24 and will conclude on October 19. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Aiban Syiemlieh, president of the club and sordar of Kynshi said the tournament aims to bring a change in the sports scenario of the state and encourage people to come out to play football. He informed that the prize money for the winner is Rs 4 lakhs and Rs 3 lakhs for runner up. As many as 16 teams will be playing in the tournament. The matches will be played on fields with natural grass, he added. The Kynshi Bangla Social & Cultural Sports Club has urged the Meghalaya Football Association to attend the tournament in order to recognise its endeavour.
