Book on Phankon released

SHILLONG: A book titled ‘Bah Remy Gius Phankon’ written by his granddaughter Stacey Rosetta Nongbri was released by Fr. Edwin Kahit, Parish Priest of Pynursla Catholic Church on Sunday. The book details the life and contributions of late Phankon.
Late Phankon was a famous Khasi author and some of his books , including ‘Dak Bangla’ have been included as part of syllabus for Master Degree in Khasi in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
Another book ‘Mynhynnin, Mynta, Lashai’ was included as a syllabus for Bachelor of Arts students.
Phankon’s book ‘Kiang Nangbah’ was translated to Bengali and Assamese for students.
He was also involved in writing the Khasi dubbing script for Hollywood movie ‘Jesus’ produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), United States of America.
