Concern over delayed payment

SHILLONG: The Accredited Social Health Activist s (ASHA) have expressed concern over the delay in payment by the health department.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Greneth M Sangma, President of GSU, Mindikgre Regional Unit said that some ASHA workers had aired their grievances regarding the delay in remuneration by Sibbari PHC, South Garo Hills. Sangma said while the malaria department had paid remuneration on October 19, 2015, payment for executing other initiatives like JSY, ABS, MMBS, FBNC and others, was released in September last year.
The GSU leader also pointed out that the people of the area are facing many difficulties to avail their birth certificates in the absence of doctors and other facilities in the PHC.
