Work in progress in Garo Hills for National Games 2022

SHILLONG: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh said working up the sports infrastructure in Garo Hills is ongoing as the state prepares to host the 2022 National Games. Speaking to The Shillong Times, he quoted the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s comment on hosting the National Games 2022 that the preparations for the Games are ongoing. Pointing to the development of Sports infrastructure in Garo Hills, the Minister spoke about the laying of artificial turf in Chandmari, the mini Games village in Dalmagre and venue for National Games in Garo Hills is listed in the state’s prep work for the National Games. He also informed of the work for the upgradation of the Rs 3 crore P.A. Sangma stadium in Tura and maintained, “There is no such Tura Stadium.” On the other hand, he said the work for the International multi Sports stadium in Ampati, South West Garo Hills is ongoing.
