SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma launched the first ever State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG) in the country during the release function of the performance report of the MUA-II Congress- led Government held at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium, Main Secretariat here on Thursday.

Stating that Meghalaya is the first State in the country to implement the SSDG, Dr Mukul said that the launching of the MSSDG will enable seamless exchange of data across multiple government departments both at the State and National levels and will also provide accountable and transparent governance.

“We will ensure that the people of the State as a whole are benefitted by this service and we will be extending the service up to the block level and beyond”, he assured.

It may be mentioned that the SSDG has three basic components such as State Portal, Electronic Forms Application for delivery e-gov services and SSDG Technology Stack.

Through this new State Portal every Department will be able to manage to add and update their contents from their own office itself.

The State Portal is a first point of interface for citizens, business and overseas people and the government, hence, represents the electronic face of the government.

The main goal of the State Portal is to consolidate all the information available at the existing state Department website and portals, prioritization of the services provided by the State, digitization of forms related to various government services, standardization of citizen interface, integration of State Government services brought online and other State Government initiatives.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister also launched the e-gov online services which would make the government delivery mechanism simpler and easier for the citizens of the State. There are around 19 online services which the citizens can avail at present with the back-end applications interface being computerized and interface with alert SMSes, all these services are being hosted in the Meghalaya online Portal https://meghalayaonline.gov.in.

New eligible voters in the State can file for inclusion in the Electoral Rolls online.
