Syiem clarifies on coal issue

SHILLONG: Chairman of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), PN Syiem, who is also NPP MDC, has clarified that he did not oppose or question the statements of the party leaders on the coal ban in the state.
Referring to the news that he questioned the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) for taking credit with regard to the lifting of ban on coal by the Supreme Court, Syiem said he had echoed the statements and sentiments of the NPP leaders with regard to the order.
Syiem maintained that lifting of the ban will benefit some of the coal miners.
