One-way for Mawlai bypass

Shillong: The office of the Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills informs that in the interest of public safety and convenience, a permanent ‘No-Entry’ is imposed from Mawlai Mawkynroh-Umshing junction towards Mawiongrim (ISBT Junction) in new Mawlai bypass road with immediate effect.
Hence, the new Mawlai bypass road will function as ‘One Way’ only i.e. entry is allowed from Mawiongrim (ISBT Junction) towards Mawlai Mawkynroh-Umshing junction. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is being deployed for surveillance in this stretch to check violators endangering other’s lives.
Necessary action will be taken if anyone found violating ‘No Entry’ as per appropriate section of Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
Meanwhile, the Dorbar Shnong Riatsamthiah informed that no overnight parking will be allowed for vehicles including two wheelers along all roads within the locality. Further, ‘no entry’ has been imposed on the road from Wahingdoh to Jaiaw via Riatsamthiah. All vehicles have to go from Wahingdoh to Mawkhar near the office of Dorbar Syiem Hima Mylliem.
